Yesterday it was reported that another Evergreen Line vessel named the Ever Forward ran aground in Chesapeake Bay on the East Coast of the United States transiting from the Port of Baltimore to Virginia. This vessel dwarfs the size of the Ever Given that got stuck in the Suez Canal this time last year. The Ever Forward has a capacity of 12,100 TEUs while the Ever Given can carry 20,124 TEUs. Ever Green Marine corporation may be having issues with pilots in coastal waterways or there is some serious dredging concerns in navigable waterways. The United States Coast Guard is leading efforts to free the vessel from the bottom. It is unknown why this occurred at this time and it is not blocking any movement of freight outside of its own vessel.
